2 Chronicles 29:
26. And the Levites stood with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets.
27. And Hezekiah commanded to offer the burnt offering upon the altar. And when the burnt offering began, the song of the Lord began also with the trumpets, and with the instruments ordained by David king of Israel.
28. And all the congregation worshipped, and the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded: and all this continued until the burnt offering was finished.
Proof that at one time brass instruments actually were encouraged in church meetings.

This made me laugh.
Sometimes, we get too bound by rules. Of course, the rules are there because people have no sense. Ah, it's a lovely circle, isn't it?
Yes. The great thing is that I first heard the horn in Sacrament meeting--that's how I decided to play it in the first place.
Luckily, most bishops realize that the horn, properly played, is not as fraque-a-licious as the trombone, and is even quite inspirational.
