Broken Things

In order to fix a broken entity, you cannot use the same component as that which broke in the first place; you must replace the broken part with something different, something stronger--something new.

The potential depth and implications of this post are scary. THen again, maybe you just broke something tangible and material?

I guess you would argue against replacing a starter motor or some other car part with a used car part?

I once ordered a new sidemarker light for my car, and the thing that came was so cheap that the plastic thing (see how knowledgeable I am about cars) that was supposed to hold the bulb wouldn't. I ended up having to use components off of the old sidemarker and the new one. And I may have used some clear duct tape too.

I think you must have something specific that you are referencing.

Technically it was referring to the shower fixture in my bathroom, but it has so many broader applications I thought it was better to leave it vague. And shower fixtures are so unphilosophical.
